MASHAMBA - A 31-year-old man of Tshivhuyuni at Ha-Mashamba Village was arrested in connection with the murder of his mother.

According to Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, the man allegedly burst into his mother's house and locked the doors. The suspect then allegedly collected several cooking utensils, like pots, as well as small pieces of furniture, and started to hit his mother all over her body.

It is alleged that he then took a knife and stabbed her in the chest.

The motive behind the killing is still not known and the man will appear in the Makhado Magistrate's Court soon.
