Man killed in accident on N1

The N1 just outside Louis Trichardt is currently closed due to an accident in which a pedestrian passed away.
According to information available to the newspaper the deceased, an unknown man at this stage, ran in front of an oncoming truck. The man was coming out of the field, next to the road. The truck tried to avoid the man by slamming on the brakes, but unfortunately the deceased landed under the wheels of the truck. He died on the scene.
The accident occurred at the Vondeling turn-off, and residents are advised to avoid the area. Motorists who want to access the N1 should make use of Industria Street or Eltivillas.
