ANC conference called off over squabbles

The ANC Vhembe's regional conference was called off during the weekend.
It took place at the Tshedza Lodge in Louis Trichardt.
According to delegates, the main reason for the calling off of the conference was squabbles between delegates over the accreditation of members. The battle for the position of chairperson of the region was between former Vhembe Executive Mayor Mr Tshitereke Matibe and former Thulamela municipal manager and ANC provincial spokesperson Adv Makonde Mathivha.
According to delegates there was huge division among members of the regional executive committee, leading to the calling off of the conference by the chairperson and premier of Limpopo, Mr Stan Mathabatha.
