Fire breaks out at Musina Municipality

The police in Musina are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out in the Musina Municipality’s offices on Saturday night.

“It is alleged that part of the municipal offices caught fire in a section of the housing department office, but the fire was extinguished before spreading to the rest of the building‚” said the provincial police spokesperson Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Preliminary investigations conducted at the scene had found that only documents and furniture in this office were partially burnt.

“The motive and cause of this fire is still unknown, however, police investigations will tell as they are still unfolding,” said Ngoepe.

Police have asked the public to assist them and come forward with information that could assist them in arresting the suspects. Information can be handed in at the nearest police station or by contacting the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111.
