Suspect before court in connection with illegal initiation school

A 46-year-old man appeared in the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for allegedly operating an illegal initiation school.

According to the provincial police spokesperson, Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the school was operating in the bushes between the Harper and Campbell farms outside of Musina. Police managed to rescue 34 initiates which they had to take to the local hospital for medical treatment.

The man was granted bail of R500 and his case was postponed until 18 July to afford the police more time to complete their investigations.
