Traffic cop granted bail on attempted murder charge

The Musina municipal traffic officer arrested for attempted murder in July this year was granted bail of R5 000 by the Musina magistrate’s court on Thursday, 16 August.
The 32-year-old Buti Masilo Sikhwama was arrested following an incident at around 22:00 on 5 July when he shot and seriously injured a 34-year-old man during an argument at a local filling station in Musina. He was arrested at the scene and his 9mm pistol and ammunition was confiscated by the police.
Sikhwama’s case was postponed until 28 September this year pending further police investigations.
