Boom period for Musina on the decline?

The number of Zimbabwean cross-border traders and shoppers entering the country through Beit Bridge border post has of late been on the decline, as shops in that country have reportedly started to fill up with basic commodities, a development that could impact negatively on thriving businesses in Musina.

Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa, Mr Simon Khaya-Moyo, has refuted media reports that many of the refugees at the Central Johannesburg Methodist church were Zimbabwean citizens, saying they are actually South Africans or refugees who came from other countries.

Life imprisonment for killer-policeman

After receiving a life sentence for killing his wife, former Inspector Freddy Mashamba showed no signs of repent. Later, when policemen were escorting him to the police van, he smiled and hugged his girl friend. Instead of crying, he also consoled and hugged his two brothers and a sister, who were weeping after hearing that he is to stay in jail for a great part of his life.

Mystery surrounds the gruesome discovery of a burnt-out body at the gate of a graveyard at Muledzhi-Ngovhela village outside Thohoyandou last weekend.
