Black Leopards must win their match against Bidvest Wits on Sunday if they are serious about moving out of the PSL relegation zone. They will meet in an Absa Premiership League match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Both sides lost their previous matches. Wits lost 1-3 to Orlando Pirates in the final of the Telkom Cup at the Moses Mabidha Stadium in Durban last Saturday evening, while Leopards were beaten 1-4 by Moroka Swallows in their league match two weeks ago.
Leopards' captain, Mongezi Bobe, indicated that they were aware of the fact that they would forfeit their status if they didn’t start collecting the points now. He revealed that the fact that two of their key players, Rodney Ramagalela and Moses Kwena, will be available for selection on Sunday, is a reason for them to believe that they will make it against Wits.
Kwena was serving his suspension after accumulating three yellow cards in previous matches, while Ramagalela missed his team’s last two matches due to a call-up to the national U/23 team.
On the other hand, the coach of Wits, Mr Roger de Sa, said that they would make Leopards pay for last Saturday's defeat at the hands of Orlando Pirates.
The other PSL weekend fixtures are: Supersport United vs Mamelodi Sundowns, Santos vs Amazulu, Platinum Stars vs Moroka Swallows, Maritzburg United vs Jomo Cosmos, Golden Arrows vs Ajax Cape Town, Kaizer Chiefs vs Free State Stars and Bloemfontein Celtic vs Orlando Pirates.
Two matches will be played next Tuesday, December 21. Jomo Cosmos will lock horns with Santos, while Amazulu will host Kaizer Chiefs.
Next Wednesday’s fixtures are: Free State Stars vs Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits vs Platinum Stars, Supersport United vs Bloemfontein Celtic, Ajax Cape Town vs Black Leopards, Orlando Pirates vs Golden Arrows and Moroka Swallows vs Maritzburg United.
