Last Saturday was another sad day for one of the Vhembe District's Vodacom Promotional League sides, Rospa United FC.
They were brutally walloped 0-6 by the defending champions, Baroka FC, and both the officials and fans are still battling to come to terms with what happened to them at the Jane Furse Stadium in Sekhukhune. The home side were on the attack from the onset, with United playing with their backs against the wall. Baroka’s goals came via Lucas Chauke, Solly Kgare, Edward Ntsumele, James Dlamini and Enos Moropi.
Rospa United are now lying in the third position from the bottom of the log, following the poor results.
The other Vhembe-based side, Nobela All Stars, came back with empty hands from their away fixture against Lephalale Young Killers. They lost 0-3.
Back home, Basel FC continued to drop points, when they lost 0-1 to Winners Park at the Malamulele Stadium on Saturday. Basel failed to capitalize on the setback, despite the fact that the visitors were reduced to ten men in the first half.
Phungo All Stars beat Magezi FC 2-1 at the Makwarela Stadium. Although FC Dinare were the first to score, they ended up losing 1-2 to Blue Rocks at the Ephraim Mohale Stadium in Modimolle.
Giyani Hotspurs beat Diatla FC 2-0 at Lebowakgomo Stadium, Modimolle Aces beat the Dolphins 3-2 and Super Eagles beat Mighty FC 2-1.
