Another home defeat for Dynamos

Sport  Date: 02 March 2012

After their 0-2 defeat against the University of Pretoria at the Giyani Stadium two weeks ago, Dynamos continued to donate points to their opponents when they lost 1-2 to Mpumalanga Black Aces at the same venue last Saturday.

Dynamos are at present in the tenth spot on the log, following a string of poor results, while Black Aces are one step below them.

The unexpected happened at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium last Saturday. The log leaders, University of Pretoria, were doomed 0-3 by the struggling Bay United. Mojalefa Mphuthi, Siphiwe Gwala and a penalty kick from Mayala Nkueni made sure that Bay United grabbed a full compliment of points. Amatuks are still leading the pack, despite the defeat.

The third-placed Vasco da Gama failed to take advantage of the students’ defeat, as they suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Witbank Spurs at the Ackerville Stadium in Witbank. David Radebe continued with his fine scoring form for United, when he netted his fifth goal in three games when his side beat Atlie FC 4-1. Simon Thomo, Thabang Makgabutlane and Solomon Hlabane scored the other three goals.

FCAK thrashed Carara Kicks 4-0 and moved up to 27 points. Blackburn Rovers were too good for Sevutsa Stars and beat them 4-2 at the Buffalo City Stadium in the Eastern Cape.

In the last NFD match of the weekend, Thanda Royal Zulu were beaten 0-3 by African Warriors at the Richards Bay Stadium.
