DURBAN – In their Castle Premiership League match that was played at a wet Kingspark Stadium in Durban on Saturday, Dynamos held the newcomers, Zulu Royals Football Club to a 1-1 draw. Dynamos, who led 1-0 until the end of the first half, threw the game away by conceding a silly goal towards the end of the game. Both teams started the game slowly, studying each other carefully before creating a number of attacking moves as the game proceeded. The Royals' former Kaizer Chiefs frontrunner, Lucky Maselesele, was the first to make his attacking intentions clear by taking on the opposition when the opportunity presented itself.
The Giyani lads took the lead in the 26th minute, when Thomas Ledingwane capitalised on Yashi Vusi's defensive blunder, by leaving his post unguarded. Ledingwane sent in a rocket from within the penalty area, thus leaving the Royals' keeper a flabbergasted man.
As if they were the winning side, Royals changed their style of play and adopted a defensive pattern. This resulted in their midfielders, Mdu Nxele and John Maduka, playing too far back. The homeside played with more enthusiasm in the second half.
The Royals' substitute, Jacky Ledwaba, brought a number of important balls into the box in a short space of time. It eventually paid dividends when Gaoshubele Thulaganyo scored the equalizer, after receiving a long ball in the 84th minute. The result leaves Dynamos with two points gained from four matches. They are lying third from the bottom of the log. They are on top of Sundowns Football Club and Hellenic who have two and no points in their accounts respectively
