GIYANI – Dynamos dropped three significant points in front of their home crowd, following their 1-2 defeat at the hands of Ajax Cape Town, in a thrilling Castle Premiership League match that was played at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday. Dynamos disappointed their supporters when they drew 0-0 with Santos Football Club at the same venue three weeks ago. They also let their fans down by losing 0-1 to Jomo Cosmos in the SAA Supa 8 KO Competition match that was played two weeks ago.
Sunday's game kept the spectators on the edge of their chairs from the onset, up to the bitter end. The homeside soon realised that it was not their day when they squandered a scoring opportunity in the 2nd minute. Their Zimbabwean international, Adam Ndlovu, went loose and shot wide with the Ajax keeper, Moneeb Josephs to beat.
The Dynamos marksman, Tonic Chabalala, and his Ajax counterpart, Brett Evans, were cautioned with cards for rough tackling and the intentional handling of the ball. The visiting side were the first to draw blood when Joseph Ngake headed home a square pass from Wilfred Mugeyi in the 40th minute, to bring the half-time score to 1-0.
The pride of Giyani scored their only goal two minutes into the second half. Adam Ndlovu tapped in a loose ball, after a heartstopping scramble within the Ajax danger area. Ndlovu sustained an injury on his way to score the goal and he was replaced with Sydney Moshikaro.
Dynamos later introduced Alex Bapela for Mpho Dagada. Bapela was a star to watch on the right flank. Ajax found the winning goal in the 78th minute. Mulekelayi Kanku scored with a bicycle kick, after a corner kick that was taken by Joseph Ngake. Dynamos kept on promising until the final whistle was blown.
