GIYANI – Dynamos put their 0-2 defeat by Orlando Pirates behind them when they spectacularly walloped Hellenic 6-2 at Giyani Stadium on Sunday. Hellenic met Dynamos at the time when the latter was still leaking its wounds. Like a wounded tiger, Dynamos was all over Hellenic's defence. Clearly, Hellenic had to pay a heavy price – that of a humiliating defeat. With this Dynamos redeemed themselves as the pride victory, of Limpopo. Ri khomeli ri nga peli could have scored a dozen of goals, had it not been for squandering numerous chances in the first half.
The Limpopo outfit let the supporters down when their front-runners, Sandras Kumwenda and Isaac Mumba shot astray with only the keeper to beat in the 6th and 10th minute respectively. Hellenic were the first to score when Daniel Matsau broke loose in the 15th minute and sent goalkeeper, Danny Phama the wrong way.
The Greek gods effected the first change to their starting eleven by introducing Marcelino Fransch for the injured Desmond Chauke. Fransch was booked for rough tackling three minutes after his introduction. Dynamos were still searching for the equaliser at half time.
They changed their midfield, by replacing Mpho Dagada with Joel Seroba early in the second half. Dynamos found the equalising goal in the 49th minute via Frank Makua, after he received a beautiful pass from Joel Seroba. They took the lead a minute thereafter.
Sandras Kumwenda headed home following an aerial pass from Josam Ndou. Aubrey Meintjies, the Hellenic defender was booked for rough tackling in the 54th minute.
Things turned against Hellenic when a locally well-known player, the former Black Leopards right back, Rian Hartslief, had to leave the pitch with an injured kneecap three minutes later. Dynamos missed another fortune, when Sandras Kumwenda's volley hit the cross bar and bounced back into play.
Realising that their scoring chances were slim, Dynamos tried their luck by bringing on Sello Ledingwane for Isaac Mumba in the 75th minute. Frank Makua scored the third goal for the local lads in the 77th minute. Darrel Smith of Hellenic was brought on in the place of Aubrey Meintjies. This proved to have been a wise idea as Hellenic managed to score their second goal via Ricardo Katza a little later.
The diminutive striker of Dynamos, Josam Ndou was a soft target for rough tackling and was replaced by Sydney Moshikaro. Joel Seroba scored the fourth and fifth goal in quick succession. The sixth was scored by Frank Makua, a minute before the final whistle.
