Matters get worse for Dynamos as they lose points

Sport  Date: 25 April 2012

Things are rapidly moving from bad to worse in the Dynamos camp. They gave away more league points last weekend when they lost 2-3 to Chippa United in their NFD match at the Giyani Stadium last Friday evening.

The visitors from the Mother City were organised in all departments, beating the local boys with pace. They scored their opening goal in the ninth minute through Freddy Thaleng. What followed thereafter was a see-saw battle, with Dynamos retaliating to whatever the visitors did to them.

It was a late goal by Velly Stemmer which gave United a well deserved victory. Dynamos are now lying on the second-last position on the log, following their successive poor results.

The University of Pretoria are still leading the pack. They collected full points last weekend when they brutally walloped Sevutsa Stars 0-4 at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday afternoon. Thanda Royal Zulu remain on the right track for the league title after beating the other title chasers, Blackburn Rovers, 1-0.

Thanda Royal Zulu are now one point behind University of Pretoria, following the victory. African Warriors pushed Bay United into the danger area by beating them 2-1 at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in the Free State.

Witbank Spurs are now on the safe side in terms of relegation. They beat Atlie FC 1-0 at the Senaba Stadium in Johannesburg. Mpumalanga Black Aces held FC AK to a 1-1 draw at the Ackerville Stadium in Witbank, while Vasco da Gama and United FC drew 2-2 at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town.
