In their Vodacom Promotional League match at the FNB Makwarela Stadium on Saturday, Rospa United let Dinare FC off the hook and suffered a 1-2 defeat.

As if they were going to register a historic victory, United were all over Dinare in the first 20 minutes. Dinare did not panic, despite playing with their backs against the wall. Instead, they took their time to study their opponents and make sure that they neutralise them at strategic points.

United managed to score their only goal, despite the opponents' playing defensive football. They were awarded a free kick in the 30-meter area. Kulani Madlalati beat the offside trap and tapped the ball in. The keeper of Dinare, Skhumbuzo Zwane, tried to save the situation by blocking Madlalathi’s way, but he was not successful.

Dinare gained momentum as the game progressed. They were awarded a penalty in the 29th minute. Tokelo Liaga was brought down within the box and the referee, Ms Lufuno Nemagovhani, never hesitated to point at the white spot.

Bafana Kau tried his luck, but he was unfortunate as the United keeper, Mxolisi Ncube, denied him a goal through his brilliant save. The captain of Dinare, Michael Mazibuko, was cautioned with a card for protesting against the referee’s decision.

Ntsieni Makhado of United was also reprimanded with a card for wasting time. Makwele Makgau scored the opening goal for Dinare in the 59th minute. Mduduzi Skhakhane of United shot wide after beating the keeper. Hosia Sesebele scored Dinare’s winning goal three minutes before full time.
