Black Leopards must collect at least four points from the two matches they will play in the space of four days.
Their first Absa Premiership League match will be against the much-respected Moroka Swallows, with whom they will rub shoulders at the Giyani Stadium this evening. A win for Lidoda Duvha will strengthen their chances of escaping the relegation axe, while Swallows are in the hot race for the league title. A victory against Leopards will enhance their chances of taking the league trophy to Dube, Soweto.
The Leopards’ line of defence, which is marshaled by Vincent Xakane, Vincent Mabusela and Humphrey Khosa, will find it tough to stop Swallows’ strikers, Siyabonga Nomvete and David Mathebula. Nomvete scored a hat-trick when his side came back from a 0-2 deficit to beat Lamontville Golden Arrows 3-2 last weekend.
Leopards are still recuperating from their 1-3 defeat at the hands of Warri Wolves FC in Nigeria last Sunday.
Tonight’s game is scheduled to start at 19:30. Leopards will travel to Johannesburg next Tuesday, May 8. They will test their strength against Bidvest Wits at the Bidvest Stadium, starting at 20:00.
The Leopards defenders, Humphrey Khosa and Enort Dzaga, will most likely form part of the starting line-up against Swallows and Wits. Khosa and Dzaga were given time to rest when their side played against Warri Wolves.
