Can Stars shine over Rospa United?

Sport  Date: 25 May 2012

The affiliates for the Limpopo Stream of the Vodacom Promotional League will play their second-last matches this weekend. All eyes will be on the match between Phungo All Stars and Rospa United, which will be staged at the Louis Trichardt Eltivillas grounds tomorrow afternoon.

Both Rospa United and Phungo All Stars are fighting for survival. Phungo All Stars failed to impress their supporters last Saturday when they shared the spoils with the other Vhembe-based side, Basel FC, at the FNB Makwarela Stadium.

Although they managed to collect free points last weekend, Rospa United are not yet safe when it comes to relegation. United were supposed to have played against Mighty FC at the Tshifulanani Stadium, but the match was declared a walkover for them after Mighty failed to pitch up.

The defending champions, Baroka FC, must beat Nobela All Stars in order to maintain their leadership. They are leading the pack with 67 points, two ahead of Winners Park. The latter will play against Dinare FC at the Moloto Stadium. Giyani Hotspurs are preparing themselves for a tough match against Modimolle Aces. They will meet in Modimolle.

The other fixtures are: Blue Rocks vs Super Eagles, Magezi FC vs Lephalale Young Killers, Mighty vs The Dolphins and Fanang Diatla vs Basel FC.
