Not only did Mighty FC manage to collect maximum points from their Vodacom Promotional League match against The Dolphins at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium last Saturday, but they also registered a controversial score.
The score was 14-1 for Mighty FC when the referee blew the final whistle, a score which none of the soccer fanatics which Limpopo Mirror has interviewed could believe. When asked to comment on the issue, the league coordinator, Mr Jabulani Ndove, could only say that the report from the match officials confirmed the score as such.
According to Ndove, his office relies on the referee’s report, which in this instance does not depict anything sinister in the game, emphasizing that all goals were legitimate.
Giyani Hotspurs managed to go back home with a full compliment of points, despite the fact that they were playing away from home. They beat Modimolle Aces 4-1 in Modimolle. Fanang Diatla gave away league points to Basel FC, when they lost 0-2.
Lephalale Young Killers could not stop Magezi FC from snatching a 1-0 victory and Winners Park beat Dinare FC 2-0 in Modimolle.
Phungo All Stars pushed Rospa All Stars deep into the danger zone for relegation, following their 2-1 victory at the Eltivillas grounds.
