In their Makhado Local FA match at the Muungamunwe grounds on Sunday, Mutsha Zebra Force and Masokolara FC shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
Masokolara started the game without three of their three key players, Tebogo Mudzunga, Phathutshedzo Nevhorwa and Aubrey Ngobeni. The game was already 18 minutes old when the trio arrived.
Unfortunately for Masokolara, it was already late at that stage as Zebra had scored their goal in the 14th minute. Rendani Mudau scored with a ground cutter after a square pass from Livhuwani Sikhwetha. Things turned against Zebra Force after Masokolara introduced the trio at the expense of Leonard Makhado, Ndanduleni Nemudivhiso and Phindulo Nemankwe.
Nyadzani Muvhali of Zebra Force was lucky to go away with a yellow card after handling the ball intentionally in the 40th minute. Masokolara came back strongly in the last half. That prompted the home side to reinforce their defence by replacing Nyadzni Muvhali with Mulalo Netshimboni.
Zebra Force abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back in a bid to defend their lead. Masokolara did not panic, despite the fact that it was difficult for them to find their way through the defence of Zebra Force.
The equalising goal for Masokolara came in the 78th minute. They initiated some promising moves in the middle of the park, which resulted in a heartbreaking scramble within the Zebra Force danger zone. Phumudzo Mafune headed home from the edge of the box.
