Dynamos’ future now depends on DC’s verdict

Sport  Date: 07 June 2012

The future of Dynamos Football Club as an affiliate of the National First Division League will be determined by the outcome of their complaints against Bay United and Carara Kicks. According to the statement from the league, the disciplinary committee of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) will pass their verdict on the matter today.

The PSL officially announced that Dynamos, together with Atlie FC, had been relegated to the lower division two weeks ago. Dynamos, together with Blackburn Rovers, sent complaints to the league two days after the announcement. In their letter of complaint, Dynamos were alleging that Bay United and Carara Kicks had registered players improperly.

According to the statement, the players in question were fielded in a number of league matches. If found guilty, Bay United will forfeit 12 points. That will mean that Bay United will drop from the fourth-last position to the bottom of the log.

Dynamos, who finished their league programme in the second-last position, will then move to the third-last position on the log and thus narrowly escape the relegation axe. On the other hand, Carara Kicks will forfeit about nine points if found guilty.

Blackburn Rovers were alleging that Chippa United had also registered a player improperly. The complaint from Blackburn Rovers forced the league to postpone the promotional playoff matches indefinitely, pending the outcome of the case as Chippa United is one of the teams which qualified to take part in the event. The verdict for the case was passed on Monday this week and the disciplinary committee ruled in favour of Chippa United. Blackburn Rovers were not happy with the verdict and they filed an appeal the following day.
