Young Chiefs and Ramantsha in a draw

Sport  Date: 08 June 2012

Muduluni Young Chiefs gave Ramantsha FC a tough time when they played to a 2-all draw in their Limpopo Dairy League match played at the Ramahantsha grounds on Sunday.

The hosts should have scored in the seventh minute, but their kingpin, Marcus Masipa, shot wide with only the keeper, Madambi Ramavhoya, to beat. Moloko Matumba of Young Chiefs found the net after a rebound in the 28th minute. A short while later, Rendani Ramavhuya of Ramantsha intentionally handled the ball and he went into the referee's book.

Chiefs' keeper, Madambi Ramavhuya, had to stretch to the limit to save Rendani Makamu's volley. Moloko Matumba intercepted a back pass by a defender of Ramantsha and blasted in a rocket. The keeper of the home team, Rofhiwa Mufamadi, reacted late and dived in the opposite direction.

Ramantsha scored their first goal in the 34th minute when Tsepo Thovhakale cut loose from the right-hand corner and unleashed a ground cutter that made the keeper feel as if he was a spectator, helplessly watching the ball hitting the back of the net.

After the goal, Ramantsha came back strongly. The players of Chiefs had to abandon their positions and packed themselves at the far back in a bid to defend their two goals.

Dovhani Maemu should have scored his team's third goal, but his shot missed by a mile. The home team equalised when Tsepo Thovhakale finished off a shot on the rebound, after a scramble within the box.
