Leopards and Ajax in Coca-Cola clash

Sport  Date: 01 November 2002

THOHOYANDOU – Thohoyandou Stadium will be the best place to be tomorrow afternoon for soccer lovers. This is the venue for the Coca-cola KO Competition match between Black Leopards and Ajax Cape Town. It remains to be seen whether Lidoda duvha will manage to rise to the occasion.

The domestic lads started this season on a sad note. They have so far managed to win only two of their official matches including their Coca-Cola first round fixture. They beat African Wanderers 3-0 in the first round of the competition at the same venue a fortnight ago.

Leopards disappointed their home fans by losing 0-1 to Manning Rangers in their league match last Saturday. In contrast Ajax have been in top form lately. They paved their way to the top 8 stage of the competition at the expense of Sundowns Football Club, whom they thrashed 3-1.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:30.

In the other Coca-cola fixture Dynamos will host the unpredictable Jomo Cosmos at their "slaughterhouse", Giyani Stadium on Sunday. The morale is high in the Dynamos camp after playing to a 1-1 draw against Santos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town last Sunday.

The match can go either way if the two teams' recent performances are anything to go by. Kaizer Chiefs will travel to Durban to honour their fixture against Lamontville Golden Arrows on Sunday. The game will start at 15:00.
