THOHOYANDOU – Still fresh from their 3-0 victory over African Wanderers, Black Leopards will play their fifth league match this weekend. They will host Manning Rangers at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
The domestic lads must win the match in order to restore their pride. Leopards have won only one of the four league matches that they have played to date. They lost 1-3 to Moroka Swallows, 1-2 to Lamontville Golden Arrows and 1-2 to African Wanderers, before beating Hellenic 2-0.
The signing of defender, Fernando Matola and striker Duncan Lechesa last week has brought about remarkable changes in the team's performance. Leopards were controlling the proceedings from the onset to the end when they crushed African Wanderers 3-0 in their Coca-Cola Cup fixture at the same venue last Saturday.
This will be the first league match for Leopards' new caretaker coach, Augustine Makalakalane and his assistant, Antonio de Vivo. The match is scheduled to start at 15:30.
In the other PSL matches to be played tomorrow, Orlando Pirates will host Sundowns Football Club at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in North West.
Both Pirates and Sundowns lost their last weekend fixtures. Pirates were booted out of the Coca-cola Cup competition following their 1-2 defeat at the hands of Bush Bucks. Sundowns were unexpectedly doomed 1-3 by Ajax Cape Town in the same competition on Sunday.
The match between Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will be screened live on television. The other match that will be played tomorrow will be between Supersport United and Jomo Cosmos. It will be played at the HM Pitje Stadium in Pretoria.
Three matches will be played on Sunday. Moroka Swallows will battle it out against Bush Bucks at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg. Santos and Dynamos will fight for points at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. African Wanderers will have a date with Kaizer Chiefs at the Kingspark Stadium in Durban.
