As part of their preparations for the coming soccer season, Black Leopards have signed a number of players to strengthen the team.
According to the team’s general manager, Mr Sam Khaphathe, they have signed two players from Kaizer Chiefs, Thomas Sweswe and Brian Amidu. Sweswe is a Zimbabwean and Amidu a Nigerian.
Khaphathe revealed that the paperwork regarding the movement of the two players to Lidoda Duvha was finalised during a meeting with the players earlier this week.
Khaphateh also confirmed his meeting with the Santos’ goalkeeper, Tsepo Motsoeneng, but refused to comment on the outcome of their discussions. A source close to the club told Limpopo Mirror that Motsoeneng had signed and that the two parties had agreed to remain tight-lipped on the matter until Santos have played their final promotional play-off match against Chippa United at the Phillipi Stadium in Cape Town tomorrow.
The source has also confirmed that Leopards have acquired the services of two players from Dynamos, Thulani Ntshingila and Miya Mondli. When asked about Ntshingila and Mondli, Khaphathe said that negotiations with the two players were at an advanced stage and that the deals could be sealed anytime soon. Ntshingila has been Dynamos’s captain for three seasons.
Black Leopards recently released their Zimbabwean striker, Kingston Nkhatha, to Kaizer Chiefs. Apart from Nkhatha, Lidoda Duvha also released Khethowakhe Masuku to Orlando Pirates.
In the meantime, Black Leopards jetted to Sudan to honour their CAF Confederations Cup fixture against Elm Merich FC on Wednesday afternoon. They will play against the same team in their return match, either at the Peter Mokaba or the Giyani Stadium in two weeks’ time.
