Soccer club fined for assaulting referee

THOHOYANDOU – Heavy fines were imposed on several affiliates of the Sibasa District Football Association during the league's disciplinary committee meeting that was held in Thohoyandou last Saturday.

Luvhimbi Table Mountain pleaded guilty to the charge of assaulting the players, officials and supporters for the opponents, Rambuda Young Fighters.

An amount of R800 was imposed on them, R200 of which was suspended. The points for the match were awarded to Young Fighters. Tshidzini Happy Fighters were found guilty of causing the abandonment of their match against Makonde Cobra All Stars. A fine of R300 was imposed on them and they also forfeited the points for the match to All Stars. Tshatshingo Potholes fielded an improperly registered player in their match against Mianzwi United FC. They were ordered to pay a fine of R500 for that.

Mutuwa Brazilians failed to honour their league match against T-Bone Steak. The committee found them guilty of that and ordered them to pay a fine of R150. They also forfeited points to T-Bone Steak. The other club that was found guilty of a similar offence was Buluni Happy Boys.

They did not honour their match against Bengwa United Brothers. Maranzhe Hungry Lions were found guilty of failing to provide adequate security during their match against Vondwe XI Bullets. They were fined an amount of R600 for that.

Vondwe XI Bullets were also found guilty of assault and were made to pay a fine of R400. Tshiombo XI Securitas caused the abandonment of their match against Makuya Try Again. A fine of R300 was imposed on them, R200 of which was suspended for the whole season.
