Dynamos and Supersport in KO clash

Sport  Date: 04 October 2002

GIYANI – Dynamos will travel to Pretoria on Sunday for their Coca-Cola KO fixture against Supersport United. They will meet at the Caledonian Stadium.

Dynamos have enough reasons to believe that they will proceed to the next round of the competition, despite the fact that Supersport will be playing at home. The Giyani outfit managed to hold the well-organised Wits University to a 1-1 draw in their fifth league fixture at Giyani Stadium last Sunday.

Only one match will be played tomorrow. Moroka Swallows will take on Kaizer Chiefs at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg. The game is likely to go either way considering the fact that the two teams have been unpredictable lately. The other match to be played on Sunday will be between Lamontville Golden Arrows and Santos. It will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.

Santos are the defending league champions and are promising to retain the trophy for the second season if their current form is anything to go by. They have lost only one of their four league fixtures to date. Their disappointing result was a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Sundowns FC.

Black Leopards will play their Coca-Cola fixture in two weeks' time. Their opening match will be against African Wanderers. It will be played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday, October 19. Wanderers recently beat Black Leopards 2-1 in a league match.
