MUDULUNI – The Zoutpansberg Football Association (Zofa) last Tuesday received a financial boost from Phadziri Bus Company of R15 000 at Muduluni Community Hall.

The 30 teams playing under Zofa will participate in the Phadziri Knock-out Competition.

The chairperson of the Safa-NPER Competitions committee, Mr Eric Muneri, said that it is a day of receiving and appreciation for Zofa. He indicated that football has risen up to be the world's number one sport in terms of participation and spectatorship. It is the sport, which has the power of creating a good climate between business and people. "No wonder why companies which are sponsoring football, are growing from strength to strength," he added.

Muneri further said that the region appreciates the selfless contribution of Solly's Discount World, MMK Insurance, Globe Finance, Telnet and Postnet, Limpopo Dairy and now Phadziri Bus Company who are all in the forefront of developing the local youth. "Despite the difficult economic conditions, we still find companies which are prepared to share their takings and support us. Football has managed to bridge the gap between nations, irrespective of skin colour or creed. It is a sport type that has managed to promote understanding amongst all men and women," he added.

The ward councillor, Mr Isaah Mphaphuli stated that the municipality is doing its best to set-up a good infrastructure. The residents should support their municipality in providing better services. He thanked the Phadziri Bus Company for coming to Zofa's assistance.

Khosi FP Kutama praised Zofa and Phadziri for starting a relationship. He urged the municipality and NGOs to come forward and develop the area, but he warned the public not to abandon its culture.

The manager of Phadziri Bus Company, Mr Moses Makakavhule, indicated that his company is ploughing back what it gained from the community. It is through support from the community that our company is where it is today, he added. Makakavhule further said that Phadziri Bus Company has acquired a route from Kutama to Gauteng and two luxury buses will soon hit the road for this purpose.
