The champions of the Munyamela Soccer Tournament, Tshiombo Try Again, held their annual prize-giving ceremony on Saturday.

The club was established in 2003 to cater for the U/12s and later for U/16s. They affiliated with the Super League in Vhembe in the 2010/11 season, and finished the league in the 11th position.

During the past season, they won the Munyamela Soccer tournament, which was played in Muhuyu. Ten teams participated in the tournament and Try Again beat Tshiombo XII Securitas in the finals. The victory made the team R2 500 richer.

The team also received R800 as the runners-up in the Dishume knock-out competition.

According to Mr Awelani Ratshivhadelo, one of the co-founders and the team manager, the idea behind the ceremony was to encourage the players.  “We want the standard of play to improve and also to boost players' morale. After this function, the players will work harder for the next season,” he added.

The team’s captain, Vusani Netshishivhe, echoed Ratshivhadelo's sentiment. "This function has motivated us to work harder.  The management showed that they care for us. We will reward them by winning the league next season.”
