THOHOYANDOU – The enthusiastic fans for Black Leopards left the Thohoyandou Stadium with sore hearts after their home team donated league points to Moroka Swallows Football Club on Tuesday afternoon. The score was 3-1 in favour of Swallows.
Lidoda duvha abused numerous scoring chances in the opening minutes. The absence of their Swaziland international, Sbusiso Dlamini was evident from the start. Swallows found the net in the 16th minute. Japhet Zwane sent in a rocket from the far-left corner leaving the Leopards' keeper, Silver Tshabalala a flabbergasted man.
Swallows replaced Papi Mbele with Samuel Ngobeni in the 35th minute. Mbele was out of touch from the first whistle blow. "The beautiful birds" enjoyed their leadership until the end of the first half. Adam Ndlovu put Swallows further ahead four minutes into the last half. He went loose from what was arguably an offside position and scored the easy way. Leopards replaced John Ndou, Byala Mushadu and Japhta Mabosho with Magic Ratshivhadelo, Mulondo Sikhwivhilu and Rudzani Ramudzuli respectively.
The replacements changed the complexion of the game as the home side managed to reduce the margin shortly thereafter. Richard Lishivha scored after a thrower from his captain, Wanani Mulaudzi. Swallows put matters beyond doubt when Samuel Ngobeni beat Tshabalala with a simple ground cutter in the 80th minute.
