Rockers gave Mpheni Home Defenders a Saturday to remember, when they crushed them 4-1 in the final of the Kharipfane tournament, played at Madombidzha.
The boys from Sibasa started the match with a bang, scoring two goals within the first 25 minutes. Emmanuel Neswiswi scored the first goal of his team after a scramble within the box. He was on target again 12 minutes later. Simon Makhado dished a beautiful pass to Neswiswi, who gave the ball the final touch.
Rockers enjoyed their 2-0 lead until the end of the first half. The centre half of Rockers, Patrick Muthivhi, went into the referee’s book for obstruction on Ronny Lisoga six minute minutes into the last half. Defenders nearly hit the target in the 47th minute, but Rockers’ keeper, Ndivhuwo Musie, palmed Mpho Matumba’s volley away for a corner kick.
Rockers went further ahead when Lucky Siobo unleashed a powerful volley, after a scramble for the ball within the box. This happened in the 70th minute.
The Sibasa outfit used all their substitution changes. Mashudu Nengovhela capitalised on a clearing error from Rockers and caught the keeper, Ndivhuwo Musie, off guard to score a consolation goal.
Lucky Siobo complete his brace in the 80th minute.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
