The former assistant coach of Black Leopards, Mr Joel Masutha, is the new head coach of Dynamos.

His appointment took effect from last week. This was confirmed by the chairperson of the team, Mr Pat Malabela. He revealed that the decision to appoint Masutha was reached after analysing the team’s poor record last season. They ended in the third-last place.

The million dollar question in the Dynamos’ camp now is whether their new head coach will be able to lead the pride of Giyani back to the PSL. Malabela said they wanted to get the right person for the job rather than appoint a person for the sake of pleasing the supporters and who could not deliver the goods.

The appointment came after the club parted ways with their former coaches, Darlington Dodo and Rodney Thobejane, who were dismissed, following a string of poor results.

Masutha said that he would beef up his current squad with experienced players in order for the team to be on par with the so-called big guns. In an interview with Limpopo Mirror, Masutha said that although it would not be easy, he would turn Dynamos’ fortunes around. He concluded by saying his mandate was to prevent last season’s situation of fighting to escape relegation.
