The winners of the four streams in the Africa Hardware knock-out competition will participate in the finals of the competition at the Makhado show grounds tomorrow (Saturday).
The competition is played under the auspices of the Makhado LFA.
The total amount of the sponsorship is R50 000, with the winner of each of the four streams receiving R10 000. The winner of the competition will also receive R10 000. The teams that will compete in the finals are Tshakhwani Stone Breakers (Zoutpansberg stream), Njhakanjhaka FC (Hlanganani Stream), Manyii Young Stars (Nzhelele) and Kuruleni Happy Fighters (Vuwani).
Apart from the prize money, the winners will also receive a floating trophy and soccer kit. The runners-up will receive a new soccer kit.
In an interview with Mr Tsotso Masia, coach of Tshikhwani Stone Breakers, he said that they were fully prepared for the tournament and highly motivated to win. Mr Solly Mukhomi of Kuruleni Happy Fighters is also optimistic that his team will win the final and bring the trophy and cash home.
According to the chairperson of the Makhado LFA, Mr Joseph Maphaha, the final will attract many soccer lovers. He appeals to the big teams to come and scout young talented players on Saturday. The first semifinal will start at 10:00 and the final will be played at 15:30.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
