Can Herbert Chokera win again?

The annual Two-Countries Marathon from Zimbabwe to South Africa will be staged tomorrow (Saturday). It will start in Zimbabwe and finish in Musina

Last year’s winner of the marathon, Zimbabwean Herbert Chokera from the Mr Price Athletics Club, says he aims to win the race again this year. He adds that he has trained hard for the race. According to him, he cannot let his fans and his country down.

Emmanuel Matumba of Vhembe Athletics Club, who finished the race in second position last year, says that he is going to win the race, while the veteran female runner, Jane Mudau, is optimistic about her chances.

Last year’s female winner of the half-marathon, Thabitha Tsatsa, says that she is ready to win again, but Joyce Makwarela states that she has trained hard in order to win the gold medal.

The race will start at 06:00. The race is organised by the Soutpansberg Athletics Club and offers R50 000 in prize money.

The mayor of the Musina Municipality, Cllr Carol Phiri, will present the prizes after the race.
