Mutandani Pull Together opened their SAB League programme by crushing Shayandima Disco Five 3-0 at the Luvhaivhai Secondary School grounds on Saturday.
Rendani Masindi scored a brace, while Thuso Mangenge was on target for the third goal.
Disco Five looked hopeless from the onset, with their midfielders blaming one other for their own careless mistakes. Pull Together scored their opening goal in the 18th minute. Rendani Masindi was on target after forcing his way through the defence.
Things turned against the visitors from Shayandima Township in the 28th minute. Their keeper, Khuliso Vimba, was given his marching orders after handling the ball outside the penalty area. A defender, Phathutshedzo Mathali, took over as keeper.
Pull Together scored their second goal before the end of the first half. Thuso Mangenge scored with a bicycle kick, following a scramble within the box.
The second half saw Pull Together create numerous scoring chances, with the opponents’ keeper pulling off brilliant saves. Tendani Mufandilani of Pull Together was cautioned with a card for a late tackle on David Nekhavhambe in the 74th minute.
Realizing that victory was almost certain, Pull Together started to relax on the ball as part of their delaying tactics. Their captain, Milingoni Netshidongololwe, missed a sure goal in the 78th minute. Rendani Masindi completed his brace in the dying minutes, following a neat pass from Khathutshelo Nekhofhe.
