The Safa Vhembe SAB match between Makhitha Oscar Stars and Madombidzha Western Stars ended in a goalless draw. The match was played at the Makhitha grounds on Sunday.
The match started at a fast pace, with both sides threatening to hit the target. Oscar missed a fortune in the eighth minute, when their striker, Lolo Tseisi, beat keepe, Tshimangadzo Masala and shot wide with an empty net in front of him.
The match turned lukewarm towards the end of the first half. This was influenced by the fact that both sides were holding on the ball for too long. Western Stars should have scored the first goal, but their kingpin, Silas Rammbona, shot wide.
Oscar Ramantswana of Western Stars was booked for a late tackle on Godwin Mahuwa. Oscar Stars introduced Sydney Luvhengo for Ndanganeni Mudzunga in the 66th minute.
In the last five minutes, Oscar Stars showed that they meant business by going forward fiercely. The demon striker Balannganani Mafela beat the off-side trap and run straight to the stranded keeper. His attempt went wide, with an empty net in front of him.
