Tshandama Try Together will not take part in the next stage of the Nedbank Cup KO Competition. They were booted out by Khakhanwa United Stars, who crushed them 5-2 at the Makwarela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It took United Stars nine minutes to open their account. Gift Manganyi beat the offside trap and blasted in a rocket from close range. Try Together lost cohesion in the middle of the park shortly after the Stars’ goal and were severely punished for that. A scramble in the danger area of Try Together in the 24th minute gave rise to the Stars’ second goal. Thanzi Muruge finished off a rebound, following an attempt by Anelani Muavha. The half-time score was 2-0 in favour of United.
They continued to dominate in the last half and increased the margin after only four minutes. Gift Manganyi completed his brace by blasting in a rocket from the 25-yards area.
The goal was a wake-up call to the players of Try Together. They scored two beautiful goals in quick succession. Tshiidzi Netshikweta scored with a header in the 58th minute, while Fhatuwani Tshiwalule was on target two minutes later.
The captain of Try Together, Ronewa Nenzhelele, was reprimanded with a card, following a late tackle on Saddam Mbulaheni in the 74th minute. United Stars strengthened their midfield by replacing Tshilidzi Ndou and Saddam Mbulaheni with Doctor Bila and Ntsako Rigenga respectively. They scored the fourth goal via Bila, while the fifth was scored by Anelani Muavha.
