Tshakhuma RO United booked a place in the next stage of the Nedbank Cup KO competition, following their 5-2 victory over Rabali Pull Together at the Makwarela Stadium on Sunday.

Pull Together took the lead in the 30th minute when Muofhe Radzilani headed home, following a corner kick that was taken by Samuel Radzilani. RO United retaliated seven minutes later. They were awarded a penalty after Tshifhiwa Mulaudzi was brought down within the penalty box. Victor Makhaukhau scored from the spot to bring the half-time score to 1-1.

RO United introduced Godfrey Mudau and Asivhanzi Muthubi for Victor Makhaukhau and Thendo Neluvhola respectively early in the second half. United took the lead in the 57th minute. Lufuno Mugodi’s volley hit the crossbar and bounced across the goal line. The goal was followed by a heated argument between the players of Pull Together and the match officials. The players argued that the ball had not crossed the goal line.

One of the players for Pull Together, Samuel Radzilani, was given his marching orders for swearing at the match officials.

Pull Together did not give in without a fight. They continued to play like a united team, although time was not on their side. They found the equalizer six minute before the final whistle.

The score line remained 2-2 until the end of regulated time.

The winner was determined through penalty shootout. RO United converted three of their chances through Lufuno Mugodi, Ronny Matodzi and Khathutshelo Mukomafhedzi, while Pull Together wasted all their chances.
