Benny’s Care Soccer Academy lost 1-2 to Madombidzha Western Stars in their Safa Vhembe SAB match at the Tshiozwi grounds on Sunday.

Both teams started the match with vigour and tried to outsmart their opponents. Two of Stars’ key players, Lufuno Ndou and Matari Nesthidzivhe, were cautioned with yellow cards in the 15th and 18th minute respectively. The yellow cards, however, did not dampen the team’s fighting spirit.

The wheel of fortune turned against Benny’s in the 20th minute. Their defender, Takalani Muleba, failed to keep the ball and Skapie Matuba scored easily. The members of his team’s technical staff could not forgive him for the blunder and he gave way to Mutshidzi Nemaxwi.

Stars scored their second goal via Daniel Nkosi. He received a beautiful pass from Percy Munonoka. The half-time score was 2-0 in favour of Stars.

Benny’s did not press the panic button, despite the fact that their fans were becoming impatient. Their solitary goal came in the 85th minute. Billy Moyo scored after a corner kick by Rendani Galedzane.
