Many soccer fanatics strongly believe that this Sunday will mark the end of the Nedbank Cup road for Dynamos. The pride of Giyani will host the Absa Premiership side, Platinum Stars, at the Giyani Stadium.
Platinum Stars are one of the close contenders for the league title and it will be difficult for Dynamos to boot them out of the competition in the last-32 stage. The Stars from the North West Province will pin their hopes on the national team right flank, Thuso Phala, and the former Black Leopards playmaker, Robert Ngambi, for goals.
On the other hand, Dynamos have been tough to beat since they appointed the former Platinum Stars’ coach, Mr Owen da Gama, towards the end of last year. Da Gama parted ways with Platinum Stars unceremoniously early last season.
In the other Nedbank last-32 matches, Black Leopards will host Cape Town All Stars at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane next Wednesday evening and the second division side, Magezi FC, will play against Jomo Cosmos at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.
The other matches that will also be played on Sunday are: Island FC vs Polokwane City, Free State Stars vs Witbank Spurs, and Bloemfontein Celtics vs Thanda Royal Zulu. Tomorrow's matches are: Maluti FET vs Orlando Pirates, United vs Chippa United, Supersport United vs Moroka Swallows, Bidvest Wits vs Kaizer Chiefs, Vardos vs Lamontville Golden Arrows and University of Pretoria vs Maritzburg United.
This evening, Mbombela United will entertain Vasco da Gama, while Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns will meet at the Cape Town Stadium.
Next Wednesday's fixtures are Sivutsa Stars vs Jacksa Spears and Amazulu vs Tembu Royals.
