Two difficult hurdles ahead of Leopards

Sport  Date: 01 March 2013

After losing three league matches in a row, Black Leopards are now facing the possibility of dropping more significant points in their two upcoming league matches. They will travel to the Kwazulu-Natal Province, where they will lock horns with Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday afternoon.

The Limpopo side must win the match at all costs in order to move out of the relegation zone. They are currently lying in the fourth position from the bottom of the log, with 17 points accumulated from 19 outings. The good news about Lidoda duvha is that their killer striker, Rodney Ramagalela, is likely to pass the late fitness test.

Ramagalela was out of action for the past three weeks after sustaining a groin injury in the match against Bidvest Wits at the Peter Mokaba Stadium three weeks ago. Black Leopards will play against another Kwazulu-Natal side, Lamontville Golden Arrows, next Wednesday evening, 6 March.

Failure to collect the maximum points in the two matches will do Leopards more harm than good as the other relegation candidates, Chippa United and Amazulu, stand a chance of collecting vital points in their matches.

The other weekend matches are: Golden Arrows vs Free State Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic vs Chippa United, Kaizer Chiefs vs Bidvest Wits, Moroka Swallows vs Amazulu and Platinum Stars vs University of Pretoria.

Two matches will be played next Tuesday evening,  5 March. Mamelodi Sundowns will play against Moroka Swallows, while Free State Stars will host Supersport United. The other matches that will be played next Wednesday evening are: University of Pretoria vs Ajax Cape Town, Orlando Pirates vs Bloemfontain Celtic, Amazulu vs Platinum Stars, Bidvest Wits vs Maritzburg United and Chippa United vs Kaizer Chiefs.
