Tshikota Chelsea were too strong for Madodonga United Stars, when they beat them 3-1 in a Safa Vhembe SAB league match at Madodonga on Sunday.

Stars were good at the far back, but their midfielders hesitated for too long and did not release the ball on time to the goal poachers. This sloppy performance put the defence under tremendous pressure.

The boys from Tshikota initiated some promising moves from the center of the pitch, but were denied a number of scoring opportunities by the solid defence of their opponents.

Chester Murwanthi of Chelsea was lucky to escape with a verbal warning after kicking Baldwin Mavhila. Stars scored a goal in the 38th minute via Tshikhudo Chuene. After the goal, Stars came back strongly, but the keeper of Chelsea denied them a goal when he fisted Musandiwa Baloyi's volley away.

The half-time score was1-0 in favour of Stars.

The visitors attacked strongly in the second half. Matha Ratshilaya dribbled pass three defenders in a row and scored easily to equalize.

Chelsea increased the margin two minutes later when their demon-striker, Hitene Tshivhula, finished off a marvellous pass from Charity Ramabulana.

The players who went to the referee’s book for different infringements were Thabang Sithole and Walter Murwanthi of Chelsea and Given Netshithuthuni of Stars.

Matha Ratshilaya completed his brace when he forced his way through the defence of the opponents and released a rocket from outside the box to make the score 3-1. As if he was a spectator, Rendani Simali watched the ball hit the net without making any attempt to stop it.
