Only one point for Phungo All Stars

Sport  Date: 22 March 2013

Phungo All Stars proved that they really mean it when they say they want to escape relegation at the end of the season, when they managed to collect a vital league point away from home last weekend.

They held Mosesetjane All Stars to a 1-1 draw in their SAFA Second Division League match at the Mahwelereng Stadium on Saturday. All Stars are still lying at the bottom of the log, despite collecting a significant point away from home.

Not only did Winners Park deposit full points into their league account, but they also registered a historic score. They brutally walloped Baobab Zero Fake 8-2 in their one-sided match that was played at the Mahwelereng Stadium in Mokopane. The victory puts Winners Park at the top of the log with 46 points, four ahead of the second-placed Baroka FC.

Blue Rocks shared the glory with The Dolphins at the Nkowankowa Stadium in Tzaneen. They played to a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon.

In their Polokwane derby at the Seshego Stadium, the newly promoted Ray Pillars gave Mighty FC no chance when they crushed them 3-1. Nobela All continued to give away league points to their opponents. They lost 1-2 to one of the league title chasers, Magezi FC, at the Seshego Stadium.

Lephalale Young Killers strengthened their chances of escaping the relegation axe at the end of the season when they beat Modimolle Aces 2-0 at the Mogol Stadium in Lephalale.  It was a war of the league title chasers when the second-placed Baroka FC played to a goalless draw with Basel FC at the Jane Furse Stadium. Rospa United lost 0-1 to Giyani Hotspurs at the Univen Stadium.
