Maebane Young Eagles were too strong for Gogobole Bucs when they beat them 2-0 in the Limpopo Dairy League match played at the Gogobole grounds on Sunday.

The boys from Kutama approached the match like a house on fire, with their midfielders distributing some telling passes to their strikers. They threatened to score seven minutes into the match, when Gibson Matlari forced his way through the defence of Bucs, before passing the ball to Masala Ramashia. His attempt missed the target by inches.

The score was still nil-nil at half time. The second half saw Bucs pressing hard in search of goals. Realising that their chances were slim, Eagles abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back.

Tshilidzi Sioga of Eagles scored his team's first goal in the 64th minute. He unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and the keeper of Bucs, Khongoleni Baloyi, watched in disbelief was the ball hit the back of the net. Bucs lost shape in the midfield and Eagles capitalised on the setback to score their second goal in the 79th minute. Tshilidzi Sioga dribbled past three players in a row and blasted in a rocket from inside the box to complete his brace.
