THOHOYANDOU - One of Univen's disabled students, Mr George Peeha Lefading (23), of Letswatla Village in the Bochum area, will represent South Africa in the International Tennis Federation's Wheelchair tournaments to be held in Holland, Belgium and England next month.

It is the first time that a disabled student from the University of Venda for Science and Technology has been selected to represent a national team. Lefading said it is a challenge to the disabled community to realize that there is potential in all human beings, despite different physical disabilities. He is a third-year B-Comm Accounting student.

The Director of Sports at Univen, Mr Kisten Nematandani, said the university is proud of Lefading and added that he will carry the hopes of residents of Limpopo and millions of South Africans.

Meanwhile, lady luck is smiling on Univen's rugby team, the Killer Bees. They recently received a donation of a playing kit from TJ Supa Quick. Vha-Venda Bricks also decided to donate boots for the team.

Nematandani thanks all involved in ensuring the growth and development of sports on campus, in particular support for disabled sport
