THOHOYANDOU – Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams will start with their league activities during the week of August 18 to 24.
According to the fixture list, the first league match will be a Kwazulu Natal derby between Manning Rangers and the newly-promoted Zulu Royals. It will be played on Wednesday, August 20, at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban, starting at 19:30.
Only one match will be played on Friday night, August 22. It will be between Wits University and Moroka Swallows Football Club. Swallows will be the visiting side, as the match will be played at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg. Three matches will be played on Saturday, August 23. Kaizer Chiefs will host Sundowns Football Club, or "the sky is the limit", as they are commonly known at the Ellispark Stadium.
Dynamos will open the new season by hosting Santos Football Club at the Giyani Stadium. The other PSL rookies, Dangerous Stars, will enjoy the homeground advantage when they test their strength against Black Leopards FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
Three matches will be played at various venues the following day, Sunday August 24. Hellenic will have a date with their neighbours, Ajax Football Club. They will play at the Athlone Stadium in the mother city, Cape Town.
The match between Jomo Cosmos and Lamontville Golden Arrows will be played at the Makhulong Stadium. Supersport United will play against Orlando Pirates at the HM Pitje Stadium in Pretoria. All Saturday and Sunday matches are scheduled to start at 16:00.
