Struggling Dynamos drop more points

Sport  Date: 25 April 2013

With only seven matches remaining before the league activities for the current soccer season come to an end, Dynamos will soon need a miracle to escape the relegation axe.

The Giyani outfit drew 2-2 with Witbank Spurs in their NFD league match at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Witbank last Wednesday.

Dynsmod conceded an own goal in the fourth minute, while Patrick Mubayiwa scored the second goal for Spurs in the 29th minute. Ri khomeni ri nga peli retaliated in the 34th minute when Steven Matete beat the keeper with a ground cutter, following a scramble within the box.

The score was 2-2 at half time as Michael Alson was on target three minutes before the teams adjourned forthe break.

As if that was not enough to disappoint the team’s fans, Dynamos drew 1-1 with Vasco da Gama at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday. The former pride of Giyani are deep rooted at the bottom of the log, following a string of poor results.

The supporters of Polokwane City left the University of Limpopo Stadium with sore hearts after their home team lost 0-1 to FC Cape Town on Sunday. After sharing the spoils with Dynamos last Wednesday, Witbank Spurs rectified their mistakes and beat their neighbours, Mpumalanga Black Aces, 2-0 at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Witbank on Sunday. Jomo Cosmos gave away league points to Thanda Royal Zulu, who thrashed them 2-0 at the Makhulong Stadium in Johannesburg.

African Warriors were by far too strong for United FC, whom they crushed 3-0 at the Charles Mopedi Stadium. Blackburn Rovers and Santos played to a 1-1 draw at the Mthatha Stadium.
