THOHOYANDOU – Black Leopards were leading by four goals to none at half-time in their friendly international match against Dynamos Football Club from Zimbabwe, but later suffered the pain of drawing the match 4-4. It was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.
As usual, Lidoda Duvha scored their first goal within the first five minutes. Richard Lishivha took advantage of Dynamos' poor clearing, when he released a ground cutter from outside the penalty box, two minutes into the game.
The homeside squandered numerous scoring chances in quick succession. Richard Lishivha, Japhta Mabosho and Mulondo Sikhwivhilu were the culprits. Their Swaziland international, Wonder Nhleko, blasted in the second goal in the 29th minute, after receiving a beautiful pass from Christopher Netshidzivhe.
Japhta Mabosho was on target five minutes thereafter. The keeper of Dynamos, Tendai Tanganyiwa, mishandled the ball and Mabosho capitalized on the blunder. The fourth goal came courtesy of Richard Lishivha, who headed home a square pass from Duncan Lechesa, two minutes from half-time.
The Zimbabweans came back strongly in the second half. The Leopards marksman, Nkhiphitheni Matombo, brought down the Dynamos' speedy forward, Tendai Muarowa, within the box and it was a clear penalty for the visitors. Jenitex Musareka scored.
What followed next was a one-way traffic flow in favour of the Zimbabweans. Clive Mwale scored the second and third goals in the 60th and 64th minute respectively. Norman Togara scored the equalising goal in the 84th minute.
