Another uphill battle for Black Leopards

Sport  Date: 10 May 2013

Black Leopards will play their second-last Absa Premiership League match next Wednesday, May 15. They will pay a visit to Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

Orlando Pirates stand an outside chance of taking the trophy to Orlando, while it is do-or-die for the team from Limpopo.

Leopards' head coach, Mr Sunday Chidzambwa, is still adamant that his side might escape the relegation axe through the eye of the needle, come the end of the season. “We will fight to the bitter end,” said the optimistic Chidzambwa.

In the other Absa Premiership League match that will also be played next Wednesday, Kaizer Chiefs will have a date with Supersport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Chiefs must win both their remaining matches in order to finish their league programe on top of the log.

Seven matches will be played tomorrow afternoon. Orlando Pirates will wrestle for league points against Mamelodi Sundowns, and Supersport United and Moroka Swallows will test each other’s strength. Platinum Stars will visit Lamontville Golden Arrows and, in a Free State derby, Bloemfontein Celtic will host Free State Stars.

Amazulu, who are still celebrating their 4-0 victory over Black Leopards, will play against Bidvest Wits, Maritzburg United and Ajax Cape Town will meet at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg and Chippa United will lock horns with the University of Pretoria at the Philipi Stadium in Cape Town.
