Stream C champions, United Artists.

Teams gear up for promotional play-offs

The nine teams which finished their league programmes at the top of their respective streams of the SAB League in Vhembe will be engaged in their promotional playoff matches this weekend.

The opening matches will be staged at the Tshifulanani Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).

The teams that will battle it out in the promotional playoffs are Matsakali Sky Rangers (Stream A), Mukula Young Santos (B), United Artists (C), Maweja Takers (D), Benny's Care Academy (E), Muziafera Blue Eagles ( F), Seven United Stars (G), Joes Express (H) and Tshibvumo Young Chiefs (I).

The overall champions will be presented with R20 000 and a floating trophy. The runners-up will receive R15 000, while the third- and fourth-placed teams will receive cash prizes of R13 000 and R11 000 respectively. The remaining five teams will take home cash prizes of R9 000 each.

The overall winner will play against the four winners from the other districts to determine the two teams that will be promoted to the Safa second division.

Tshifhire Northern Brothers represented Vhembe District in the provincial championships. They failed to make the grade and Baobab Zero Fake from Mopani District and Ray Pillars from Capricorn went through.

The toss for tomorrow’s matches was still to be conducted at the time of going to press.
