ZWIGODINI - The Vodacom League's newly promoted team, Zwigodini Real Vikings, have lost a good player, Timothy Netshamudzinga (19), who has joined Zulu Royals FC.

Netshamudzinga (19) of Tshanzhe, Mutale, was spotted by Zulu Royals during the regional national play-offs for the Castle League in Kwazulu/Natal two weeks ago. The team's coach, Mbulungeni Mambeda, said they were happy about Netshamudzinga's move, as it will inspire the others players to work hard, knowing that they can get the opportunity to play in the highest league. Netshamudzinga joined Zwigodini last season after playing for Tshanzhe Pre-Mighty FC. He played as a mid-fielder cum striker.

"We are happy about his move. This means that we have developed him and he has a job now. It encourages others and makes them realize that they can make it in soccer," said Mammbeda.

Mammbeda also added that they still have many players who have a good future. Mammbeda said the manager for Zulu Royals, Vusi Mvelase, told them they were still interested in other three players in the team.

Speaking to Mirror from the Zulu Royal camp, Netshamudzinha said he was also happy about his move."I am happy because this is a great challenge. It was not in my mind that it could happen now. It came as a surprise. However, I always had this dream. I dedicated myself to soccer in order to achieve this. I think I impressed them (Zulu Royals) as, after every game, people congratulated me," he said.

Netshamudzinga, who was supposed to study for his second year in Quantity Surveying at Pretoria Technikon, said he was going to finalise the deal by signing the papers on Wednesday.

He said he could not sign on time, as he was too busy practicing with the team. Considering that soccer is a short career, Netshamudzinga said he was going to continue his studies through the University of the Free State.

No comment was available from Zulu Royals's manager, as his cellphone could not be reached at the time of going to press.
